Late yesterday afternoon things really became strange in our small California community. So much so, that I reached out to my friend Steve Quayle to see if he’d heard of anyplace else in the country that was having this kind of activity. These are the brief emails that went back and forth:
I live in a small, bedroom, high-desert community. The closest military base is March AFB, southwest, some 20+ miles away. Twenty-Nine Palms (marine base) is due north, probably 50 to 60 miles, and Camp Pendleton (marines) about 70 miles due south on the coast.
For the last hour, there has been a V-22 Osprey doing touch and goes at our very small, civilian, public airport. The airport is so small that it only handles light aircraft.
The Osprey was brought into service to eventually replace aging C-130’s (I’m ex-Air Force) and is designed for short field take off and landings. It, as you probably know, also has vertical take-off capability.
So my question is – Why here? There’s no military base here. This is a retirement community.
Have you heard of this kind of thing happening in other parts of the country.
I know we are close to a financial collapse and I wonder if this is staging.
Here is his response:
“YES, IT’S STAGING AND THEY CAN LAND LARGELY UNDETECTED AT THESE SMALL AIR STRIPS-THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY”
Interestingly enough, the activity made the local paper. However, they way that the article was framed was, “V-22 Osprey puts on a one plane air show!”
Really? Now why doesn’t it strike anyone as strange that a MILITARY aircraft is doing touch and goes at our little civilian airport?! Go figure!
My friend Steve always says that the sheeple are “dumb unto death”! I’m afraid he could be right.
