Political Correctness In a World Gone Mad

May 30, 2013 by Daniel Holdings

Who’d of thought that the Political Correctness born in the 1990’s would become 2013’s diapered, lumbering, Baby Hughie in his oversized high chair bellowing “I want more!”

Yet, in a society that was founded on the morays of freedom of religion, thought and speech, all around are attempts to conform its citizenry to a type of “group think” that says the socio rights and wrongs of the twenty-first century are better than the original truths on which the United States was founded.

What am I talking about?

How about – gay rights: same sex marriage, gays in the military, in the boy scouts and in the classroom?

Or, what about today’s PC axiom that says we should not speak ill of Islam and that even red-blooded, Lilly-White Americans should be looked at as terrorists?  (For those wondering, I am non-Caucasian)

And whatever you do, don’t use the name of Jesus!  After all, it’s “offensive” and exclusive.  PC says that we are all one and that all faiths are equal and… (What a crock!  But I digress.)

Look at the influence of PC on our kids: Sexual permissiveness is encouraged to the point that some schools pass out condoms and fifteen year old girls can get the morning after abortion pill, but are still too young to drive by themselves.  In addition, our young minds are being bombarded by an entertainment industry that says sleeping around is okay and the idea of two loving parents, a man and a woman, is out dated and old fashioned.  Today, you can lie, cheat and steal – just don’t get caught.

Even our own government has taken the PC fight directly to groups it classifies as conservative.  This was made evident with the recent IRS scandal in which those moral based organizations and businesses were targeted.

Don’t get me wrong.  This is not a political rant.  Rather, it’s a lament about a long lost society in which I, my parents and my grandparents grew up.

Just last week, I caught a similar regret voiced on Fox’s Bill O’Reilly in which the astute host reminisced about how the 1950’s were the good ol’ days and how we have fallen so far from that ideal.

To be honest, I don’t watch much television news media anymore.  The scripted arguments on either side of the political isle often miss the important issues.  For real news, one must take it upon themself to dig into a variety of sources and pull out nuggets of truth.  My website, www.danielholdings.com, is dedicated to just that.

Bill happened to be on, and I do like him, so I listened – until I almost threw something at the TV.  (That’s why I don’t watch the media.)

My verbal rant back at the television was something along the lines of: “What do ya mean you don’t know why things are so different now?!  They’ve taken God out of our society and every man is doing what’s right in their own eye’s!  You Doof!!!”

I walked away before any electronic assault occurred, but that frustration was the genesis of today’s blog.

Judges 17:6 says, “And in those days, there was no king in Israel and everyone did what was right in their own eyes.”  So what were the people doing?

Idols littered the land.  People sacrificed children to Moloch and there was violence all around.

Hummm… sounds like life was a lot like 2013 – except without the iphones and reality TV.

The point is that a nation who turns their back on God is doomed to reap the consequences of that rebellious life.  Can we turn back the clock to the 1950’s Mr. O’Reilly?  Not with this nation bent on promoting a demonic Political Correctness agenda!

Israel was “the apple of God’s eye” (Zechariah 2:8).  Yet, their continual, willful, sin caused them to be plundered.  While God avenged them, the Israelites felt the pain of reproof.

With a world that shouts that the end of the age is at hand, it would seem that the time for national repentance is quickly diminishing.  But what about personal repentance?

Followers of Jesus are supposed to be citizens of a greater kingdom – Christ’s Kingdom.  As such, it would do all of us good to evaluate our hearts.  Have the worldly ways of Political Correctness and its idols crept into our thought processes and homes?  Are things no longer black and white, but just various shades of gray?

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes like never before.  Time is too short to be complacent.  Today is the day of salvation.

And as for me and my house – Political Correctness has no place here.  We will serve the Lord.

What say you Mr. O’Reilly?
